Hi, I'm Leo Humphreys Newman, a developer and video editor. I'm bilingual Spanish-English, and strive to be friendly, easy to work with, and an enthusiastic learner. I enjoy video editing, reading, 3D modelling and VR, learning about topics of interest, and of course working on programming projects - some of which you can see here on my website.

Working at the UCD Innovation Academy, I've been in charge of handling time-sensitive projects for external clients, assisting team members with running classes and workshops, planning, 3D modelling, and manufacturing a diverse range of items, and more.

President of the UCD Japanese Society, managing finance, events, and embassy relations, with the aim of welcoming foreign students and creating an inclusive cultural environment. I also have extensive experience in both Peer Mentor and Orientation roles.

Filmed and edited over 20 promotional, educational, and historical videos for a professor at the University of Seville, Spain. I was also part of a filmmaking group where we created award-winning short films and documentaries.

Created a complex interactive 3D + Augmented Reality platform for use by a university, providing a modern and engaging way to explore everything from biology to medieval structures. A web-based project, using Babylon.js and AR.js, and with a focus on speed and flexibility.

Spotify History Analyzer

I decided to make this after noticing the lack of any visible statistics about my Spotify listen history. Initially a Java-based program, I then ported it to Javascript and made a web version to make it easier to use. All the data processing is client-side for privacy and speed.

Needing to update my old WordPress website, I coded this one from scratch in HTML and CSS. It follows a mobile-first, accessible design approach, while doing everything possible to shorten load times. It uses some components from the Parallax and Metro 4 libraries.

Chat Analyzer

Wanting a way to see statistics about messages sent in various apps, I made this program which shows information about chats imported from WhatsApp, Telegram, or Instagram - such as the number of messages per user & over time, and the most common words used.

I've also worked on many smaller projects, such as an Android scheduling/calendar app (Android Studio, Java), a program to filter Instagram's DM data download by username and export a better arranged JSON, and a simple web-based Perkins braille keyboard.

Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science at University College Dublin, covering everything from the foundations and physical elements of computing and assembly, to machine learning, databases, and more. I've completed small and large projects, in groups and individually.
